Availability comes from the yard's own diary, so a slot that shows as free is genuinely free. Your health declaration is filled in once and lives on your account. Everything is paid by card at checkout, so there is nothing to settle at the gate.

A one-to-one lesson comes from the school's own diary — opening hours, which instructor is on, which horse is free and fit to work — and a group class shows the places actually left in it. Fill the health form once. Not once per yard.
The declaration belongs to the rider, not the school. Complete it once and it sits on your account, encrypted, ready for every booking after. The participation waiver works the same way — signed once, per version.
The school you are booking with is given the declaration for that booking, recorded against it, and the share carries an expiry. A paper form handed over at the gate does neither — it goes in a drawer and stays there.

Every yard leaves a stamp.
The passport sits in your dashboard. Ride at a school and it earns a stamp — the yard's name, its town, the month you first rode there. Ride a horse the yard has named on your booking and it joins your list, with the number of times you have been put on it.
Rosettes come off completed bookings, so nothing is self-reported, and the empty slots show what is still there to earn. It is the part of Trottr that riders come back to look at.

Everything below has an equivalent at the yard, done slower. These do not. No clipboard fills itself in for every school you will ever ride at, none of them remembers the horses you have ridden, and none of them puts a family on one account.
Getting a lesson on Saturday.
Same Sunday evening, same hour wanted: 09:30 on Saturday 23 May. One of these takes until Thursday to hold it.
You settle on a lesson after the children are in bed. The yard answers its phone between nine and five, so tonight there is nowhere to put it.
Three slots, because three slots are open — the one-to-one lessons derived from the yard's opening hours, instructor rota, horse availability and that day's exceptions, and the group class showing the places actually left in it.
Ring the yard. Everyone is in the school with a lesson, so you leave a message.

“I think we’re full on Saturday — I’ll have to check and ring you back.” It is booked on Thursday, on the fourth call. Four days to hold one hour.
Nobody has to check. If the diary says a one-to-one is free, it is free — and if the yard closes the day, it stops being offered.
